Donni's makeup sensibility is best seen in her film work, where she excels in beauty, character and special effects. Her modern application techniques enable her to create realistic and authentic makeup looks, often with a "lived-in" feel. Her commitment to authenticity and collaboration, as well as her distinguished attention to detail and organization, have quickly advanced her career as a makeup department head. Donni did the makeup for the multi-award winning film Moonlight, which won Best Drama at the 2017 Golden Globes.

After growing up in Venice, California, with an extensive background in visual art (+ 2 artist parents) Donni moved to Brooklyn, New York, where she earned her BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute. Several years later she decided to become a makeup artist in the film industry. Instead of going back to school to receive a formal makeup education, she completed a series of apprenticeships with several established makeup department heads in Los Angeles, where she trained both privately and in the field. Today Donni lives in Los Angeles, California, and travels throughout the country and abroad to work on feature films.

In addition to feature films, Donni works on select short films, music videos, commercials, photo shoots and fine arts projects.
